Asians@ Community Resource Group (CRG)

CRGs provide employees with spaces to connect with other’s through shared experiences or backgrounds.

  • Global mindset

The group was inclusive of all regions and timezones, creating a need for programming that would be flexible for all members.

  • Incredible people and incredible talent

Allowed a personal lens on the people who make the day-to-day work.

Fueling culture in a remote world

While processes, documentation and tooling has been optimized to be a remote-friendly experience, human connection isn’t always. Working with incredible people only feels stronger when connections can be made through shared experiences. Utilizing existing tooling to foster that connection created happier and meaningful relationships.

  • Comms regardless of timezone

Not everyone’s 9-5 looked the same. Creating experiences that could be done at one’s leisure, proper deadlines and a clear request allowed for engagement to be almost 95% every time.

  • Excuses to play

Things I made the team do: Dress up, write nice things about each other, draw together, build components together, design a sticker sheet to hand out at in-person events, design enamel pins to pass out, make virtual friendship bracelets, Slack photos to each other, talk about crocs, and play trivia.

Some call it a “personality hire”

I believe human connection creates the strongest foundation of communication. I enjoy creating programming that allow people to show up to work and find similarities and foster relationships, if it is productive play that’s even better.
